Hat's and Flowers

Ever since my friend put this on her little girl I have been getting lots of emails about the pattern. Click here for the link. The only things I would change is the button size (I didn't have a bigger button at the time) and when you get toward the bottom the of beanie, the slip stitch on the last row you have to make sure it is super loose or don't do it at all. The yarn I chose has a lot of stretch but with the slip stitch it made it hard to go over Sophie's head. Once I took that out, it fit perfectly!

So I made this beanie for my friend's little girl Sophie. It was the second hat I have ever made and it was much easier than the first - a newsboy hat.

For my next projects, I will be doing Christmas presents for my nieces but I will not post those until after Christmas. I will be making this hat for my friends sweet little girls for Christmas though (my first paid job!). I am really excited! The colors I will be using are gray and white. I will be also making a few flowers to go on them that they can change out in red, pink, black and white.

This pattern came from esty.com. Britta's Shop has some really pretty patterns. Click on her name to get the pattern for this picture.

Chevron Afghan That is Taking A Lot Longer Than I Thought...

So I saw this pattern on youtube.com and said to myself "That looks easy, you can do that!". Yes, it is a pretty simple pattern (looks harder than it is) but it is VERY time consuming. I am about half way done with it. I think the hardest part it just switching out the colors. I am glad I decided on only 3 instead of the original 4 I was going to do!

About this pattern:
In the video, the person was not really following a certain pattern but made one up themselves. I made 130 chains equaling about the width of a twin size blanket. The first row was the hardest but by the third row I got the hang of it. If you would like the pattern I am using for this, let me know and I will write up a pattern (as best I can).

The yarn I am using for this is Vanna's choice by Lion Brand Yarn and the colors are mustard yellow, beige and barley.

Weight Category: 4 - Medium: Worsted-weight, Afghan, Aran Yarn
Solids: 3.5 oz (100 g), 170 yards (156 m)
100% Premium Acryl

The needle size I am using is K- 6.5 mm. I think the recommended for this yarn is a J- 6 mm hook but I really like the look of this size better for this particular afghan.

Welcome!

As I have been searching through different crochet blogs, I have become a little disappointed with my findings. There are so many great crochet ideas and patterns out there and I have only found a few out there that are really interesting, up to date and are modern and something that I or anyone else would even wear or use!
This is an example of what you will NEVER SEE on this blog!

Out of all the blogs I have started an failed to keep up with, I really hope this one will stick and that you will get as much from it as I will.
