Old to New Reindeer Napkins

I have been seeing all these really cute holiday napkins everywhere but when I look at the price I can not believe how expensive they are for just 2 cloth napkins!

I got to thinking about all of the wonderful  napkins I have in my buffet that have been sitting there for a while and why couldn't I make my own. Well, I did and here is how I did it for $5.99 for 6 napkins.

Materials:
4-6 used cloth napkins
1 package of 3 transparent paper
Image
Iron
Scissors and/or craft blade

How To:
1. Make sure your napkins are clean and ironed
2. Print and cut out image (I wanted a square look around mine but you can also use a craft blade)
3. iron on image

I wanted to have a certain look so I pulled the paper up about 3 seconds after I ironed on the image to give it a faded look.

Here is the reindeer image I created if you are wanting the same look.

Themed Hats

Recently I had a friend come to me about making green and red hats for her boys with beards. After discussing it more, I realized she was wanting the hats to resemble Mario and Luigi hats. I asked her if she wanted me to make actual Mario and Luigi hats (not really thinking I was going to be able to pull that off...haha) and she got very excited about it! So, after looking hard and finding this FREE pattern I got to making them. I also added a mustache :)

As for the mouse theme hats, my son and his cousin are having a joint birthday party this year with the Mickey and Mini theme at a bounce house. I am pretty excited about how these turned out! I hated the way the ears kept flopping over so I doubled and stuffed them. I will soon be putting both kinds of hats on my etsy shop as custom orders.

Hat Season is Here!

I love hat and scarf season! This summer was nice but I am so happy fall is here!

Crocheting hats and scarves are my favorite! They can be so simple to make but have so much texture and color to them.

I am also starting to get orders and I am loving it! It is nice to know people like my work enough to wear them around town :) These particular hats are not on my etsy shop yet, but they will be soon!

Here are some of the hats I am working on this week:

Pure Girliness

Just because I don't have a girl (God has blessed me with a very active boy whom I adore), I still love to crochet girly things for my friends and family.

Rhinestones can only make things more girly!
I am really excited about these ponchos below that I made for my nieces birthdays! I am thinking about making myself one this fall.

I made this cute headband for a friend who found something similar online for way more $ than it should have been!

Cocktail hats can be so much fun and something different! I also made this for my friend who found something similar online. I like a good challenge when not using a pattern.

Fun Applique's for Kids

These little things can add so much fun to kids hats, skirts, shirts, sweaters, cardigans, jackets, book bags and endless other things!

I wanted to try some out to make as birthday presents. I made a car on the road for a boy and a hot air balloon and the first letter of her name for the girl. I will be selling the air balloon pattern on etsy and website soon.

I made this hat for Ethan (my son) this past winter. I had many people commenting on it asking where I purchased it and when I told them I made it, they didn't believe me :)
HERE is the free pattern for the car.

Here is an octopus shirt I made for Ethan today. I definitely need to work on making the legs better but I am happy with how my first one ever turned out! Pattern to come soon when it is perfected. I attached the crocheted octopus with a heavy fabric bonding tape that can be machine washed (gently cycle). It is really stuck on there and not coming off any time soon!

Happy Crocheting!

Going Green For St Patrick's Day!

This Saturday is St. Patrick's Day and green is the thing to wear and decorate with! You don't want to get pinched (green eyes don't count)!

I love making hats that are for a specific occasion!

Maybe a bookmark or two for you and a friend. This might look cute clipped on your shirt as well.

I am not quite sure, but I think you can make this necklace by making a whole bunch of crochet circles and stringing them on a single crochet chain and putting a heart on it as well.

There shamrocks are really easy to make!

Happy crocheting and St Patrick's Day!

My Dear Friends Wedding

Soft glowing lanterns, old fashion light bulbs hanging from tall beams, brick walls, hardwood plank floors that stretched across the entire room. Candles in jars lit everywhere. The fragrance of peonies, snap dragons and other sweet smelling flowers in the air. Jars upon jars of fun assorted candies. Photo booth to capture sweet and funny moments to be remembered for a long time...

Yes, this is what I did this weekend, a wedding! I have actually been planning it for several months but this was the weekend it all came together! I cannot wait to see all of the photo's for it! I am so bad at capturing pictures that I only bothered with taking pics of the bouquets I made for the wedding party. Yes, I also did the floral's for the entire wedding :)

I really love Joanna and Barnard and was so honored to be asked to be the planner/Florist. It was a very fun wedding full of laughter and joy! Here are a few pictures but I will most definitely post more as soon as I can!

Bridesmaids bouquets of Tulips, white and purple stock and mini carnations (yes, carnations)

This photo was taken by my friend who was doing the photo booth. The bouquets are not in the jars yet but I think this is a great shot of the head table. The reception was held at The Stockroom @ 230

This picture was taken by me and I didn't even come close to capturing the tables. I hope to post some professional ones soon!
