Adventurous Crocheting...For me That is.
I have made several headbands and will post those pictures as well right after Christmas (some of them are gifts).
*Also, look out for my new shop site in the near future!
Contortionist Crochet Cuff from kootoyoo.com
This is so pretty and modern at the same time! I am so inspired by this kind of stuff!
Click here to watch a video tutorial on how to make it.
Merry Christmas! I really hope it is filled with joy and many blessings!

Mini Post of the Week
Here are the things I have finished this week:
I am the only one to model my stuff so far and need to take pictures of the product on the actual person I made it for. Those should start coming soon!
These are headbands that I made last night for my friend and her daughters. I really like how they turned out and the colors are fun (navy, green and gray)! I added a flower on two of them so they can leave on or easily take off.
This is a ribbed hat I made for my brother. It has taken forever due to the entire thing being single crochet. I really do like the finished product though! I got the pattern here
Hopefully I will get a chance to post next week!
Merry Christmas!

Making Your Own Pillow
Moving on...
The round above I love but I couldn't find the source for it. The round one I found below is super cute and is a free pattern thanks to Sarah from ballhanknskein.blogspot.com! I think it will do just fine in my house (I would definitely do it in mustard yellow)!
Crochet applique is a fun way to show you personality. This Statue of Liberty pillow I found on redheart.com and you can download the pattern here. I think for Ethan's room I might figure out how to make a paper airplane applique (if that is possible...) and make him a pillow or two for his bed.
Embellishing can also be simple and make a pillow stand out. I love color but am also afraid of it so this is probably a good way to add a pop of color and if you don't like it or get bored of it , just pop it right off!
Here is a flower pattern to help you get started from Julie at SkaMama's Bone Hook: 5-Petal Flower
Lace pillows are again, from redheart.com (I am sure you are catching on that I heart redheart). Download the pattern here. To the one on the right with all the flowers on it, there is not a specific pattern for this but you can put whatever kind of flower you like on a pillow.
Places like world market and pier one are selling these but you could totally make this yourself. Tristin and Sharon over at twogirlsbeingcratfty shared a tutorial on how to make this awesome rose pillow!
Since all of these patterns are free, there will not be a pattern of the week. I hope this has inspired you as much as it has me!
Have a great week!

Mini Post of the Week
I did a post a few weeks about about cowls and neck warmers. I did not post this pattern but I will now because I really like it and very easy to make!
You can wear it casual.
Or you can put a ribbon on it when you go out at night (this picture doesn't do it justice).
Here is how to make this awesome cowl!
Yarn I used it Jiffy Lion Brand Yarn
Color: Dark Grey Heather
Bulky (5)
Hook Size 9mm
NW 85g
135 Yards.
Chain 54 and sl st first and last st to make a big circle.
Round 1: Chain 3 (counts as your first dc), dc around until you reach your first dc, sl st first dc.
Round 2 &3: Repeat round 1
Round 4: chain 3, *dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc tog* until the last 18 sts. dc the rest until the end, sl st at first dc. This make the bottom part a little wider than the top so it will fan out a little more on the bottom.
Round 5-15 Repeat round 1. sl st at first dc and fasten off and making sure to weave in the ends.
If you have any questions about my pattern, let me know.
Have a great weekend!

Crochet Your Stockings Off!
Retro stockings are so fun and can be as colorful as you want...or not. Here is a pattern similar to these since I couldn't track down who these were made by.
Quite a few of these patterns are from redheart.com. Surprisingly they had the most free patterns that were actually cute. Get the pattern for these waiting for Santa stockings here.
A lot of you probably have either had something like this when you were little or saw them at your grandparents house. I think they never go out of style yet they are always out of style. haha!
This stocking is from crochet and more by simo . The pattern is below in the next two pictures.
Not sure where this is from or who it is by but I can't imagine it would be much harder than some of these other stockings on here.
Can't forget about the paws of the family! I definitely want to make this upper one for our dog Conrad! both patterns are free on redheart. Click here for the doggy stocking and here for the cat stocking pattern.
Just for fun, here are some cute things you can fill your homemade stockings with!
Say hi to Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde! These pacman ghosts are super fun and easy to make, and turns out so adorable that you just want to make another one, and another one! Click HERE to purchase the pattern.
Everyone needs a box for something. You can get this pattern by Zoom Yummy here
Cozy that wine bottle you are gifting with a nice homemade wine bottle cozy that you make yourself or purchase from kariscraft here.
A stocking! This is by Lions brand yarn. Click the picture to get info on the colors used.
Lion Brand® Holiday Homespun®12 single crochet + 14 rows = 4 in. (10 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
Heel begins by working over 20 sts – one half of the total sts of the leg. These are the heel sts. The remaining 20 sts are the leg sts. You will work on the leg sts again later. | |||||||||||||

Ethan's new newsboy hat! I had to bribe him to let me take a picture of him this morning in his hat. I gave him 5 chocolate chips :)
